How does the Kubota DPF Emulator work?
The DPF emulator simulates the operation of a fully operational exhaust gas reduction system. Thanks to Kubota DPF Emulator, the engine controller does not activate regeneration of the diesel particulate filter, because it receives information that the DPF filter is in perfect condition. It means that all the time, the filter is clean.
In addition, in engines equipped with a Selective Catalytic Reduction system (SCR system), the diesel exhaust fluid (DEF) does not need to be replenished. The Emulator will emulate (imitate) the fluid level, making the ECU think that there’s still fluid in the tank.
Kubota DPF Emulator & Kubota DEF Emulator emulates (simulate/imiate) the operation of the following components:
- Temperature sensors (there are three)
- DPF pressure sensor (the differential pressure sensor – it measures the pressure before and after the filter)
- DEF/AdBlue pump (Diesel Exhaust Fluid = AdBlue)
- NOx sensors (NOx = Nitrogen Oxides)
- DEF tank
- DEF sensors
How to install the Kubota DPF Emulator?
Installation of our emulator is simple and does not require interference with the engine controller. The Kubota DPF Emulator uses a harness with original plugs, which must be connected in place of the sensors. Installation takes only a few minutes.
Once the unit has been connected using the factory plugs, the errors usually need to be cleared. It often happens that the machine will come out of power limitation mode after a few minutes of operation. This depends on the level of soot fill on the DPF filter stored by the Engine Control Unit (ECU).
After installing the emulator, the Kubota engine’s particulate filter must be removed. If you do not want to make a hole in the particulate filter, you can use a straight pipe. We offer a straight pipe to replace the filter.

When the particulate filter is clogged, a message appears on the dashboard indicating that it needs to be cleaned. Depending on the level of clogging, the machine can perform this procedure itself. If the level of soot or ash saturation is too high, replacement is necessary.
